Julie Chen Moonves, who was among the first hosts and moderators on The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award winner talk show) was back on the air August 5 for the 22nd edition. She was a writer before becoming host, but her passion was to write. It actually won her an Emmy. She also won an Emmy as a host of an outstanding entertainment talk program. The show was hosted by her co-hosts CBS News weekday morning show The Early Show between 2002 and 2010. In the past, she served as CBS Morning News anchor and the host for The Early Show. Chen Moonves was tasked with reporting from Cairo after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. She went down and talked to the father who commanded hijackers to an eye-opening, interesting interview. Chen Moonves is a journalist who has worked alongside newsmakers such as former New York City City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Queen Rania and the former Defense Secretary William Cohen and Denzel Washington. Chen Moonves has also worked for CBS's New York City station WCBS as a reporter, anchor as well as a producer (1997-1999). Prior to becoming a part of CBS News at the beginning of 1995 Chen Moonves had been as a reporter at WDTN TV Dayton. Prior to joining CBS News, Chen Moonves was a journalist at WDTN-TV dayton (1995-1997). In addition, she worked for ABC NewsOne from 1992-1995. Her first position in broadcasting was working as a desk assistant for ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline together with Ted Koppel, who remains one of her journalists' heroes. Chen Moonves and Ted Koppel collaborated for Anatomy of a Riot - the primetime TV special that won the Columbia du-Pont award - which focused on what happened during the Los Angeles riots of 1992.
